Linomation Done! Animation will be online in the next few days!

I have done all the carving and print and scanning animating of both the prints and the carvings! even making a poster from all the prints!!.. i hope to have the Actual Animations (Linomations) up in the next few days!.

here are some pictures of the work:

Tired!!!

All of the Printing of the :Linomation is done!!!! and man printmaking for a full day is tiring work! and two in a row! even more so! took about 13 hours to make a print edition of one! but thats one full lot of 296 frames!!!!!!! i only had the time at the moment to make one print run!. i hope to do more in the future when i get my own press!.. I NEED MONEY!.. unfortunately my application form did not process very well for me to get my old job back caring for people with learning disabilities! which was a great job but oh well, not even an interview this time!. i am currently looking for other work in this field though… also any more commissions freelance work.. ha or donations…

So i’m stumped for money and need a job asap!. Great though that i have managed to get this animation carved and printed, i’ve also scanned in and animated all the linoleum carvings, just need sound which i hope to have in the next day or two!. then i am hoping when i go to college tomorrow all the prints will be dry!. i can then set about cutting them all out and scanning them in! Then Animating them all!. I am still yet to clean the linoleum though which is a big task in itself!. i would say that alone will take about 3 hours!. maybe more! i could see by the end of this hand carved animation a good 500 hours would have been put into it!. i like the numbers though! calculating that into 500 hours - 296 frames makes it!. roughly 1 and a half hours per frame!. BUT per frame gets me, Carving + print + the carving and prints parts to the wider picture which is the whole animation. but if you calculate hours spent to the 24 seconds in which the linomation lasts you get about 20 hours per second…

i’ve got the full time lapse from the carving on youtube:

so the printing has gone well: and am very much looking forward to Animating them!!! Already though i am itching to get working on my paris map! though i think i will leave that for a month or so! rest and do drawing and things!!!  rest up a bit on the carving front!.

right sleeeep is calling me

DEHISCE LINOMATION DONE!

At last it is done! 18 days of word! and not sure how many hours! i will when i have rested up tonight! upload all of the time lapse i took of that whole time!.

here are just two photos i took! when i finished the Linomation:

15 hours later

spent about 15 hours carving today!!!!! and i still do not want to sleep! so thought that i would write in this! then try and get some sleep! i can always find some crap to day!.

But i know i need to update my blog!! maybe even the whole website! just a small update! it seems that some people have scrolling problems!!! so i need to figure out whats wrong with the code and fix it!. soon enough when i finish the Linomation!.

So far i have done about 224 frames! out of 296!!!  tomorrow will mark Two weeks of working on this Linomation daily!! its the longest i have spent carving!!! i’ve got most of the time on time lapse! a few times it stopped recording and i lost 5 hours.. and a few other mess ups!!

i did just manage to rig the other webcam i have which i had forgotten about, to record from above! so thats interesting!. i got two time lapses happening at once! i did not synchronize them but i could have! but i put the time lapse from above to take photos every 10 seconds instead of every 20 seconds like the room time lapse!.

The room time lapse stats is.. one frame per 20 seconds real time, and 24 frames per second in footage time! thus making one min real time into only three frames… so 8 mins of real time makes up one second for the video footage!!!! with some interesting results!.. ill be putting the whole time lapse together when i finish the Linomation off!. its quite interesting with all the cups of tea!! and glasses of water!. thus far i have listened to 6 audio books in two weeks!. i tried to learn spanish audio style whilst carving but that is too brain taxing! i can carve and listen to audio books quite easily!. as carving is second nature when you have done so much!, and listening to stories using the imagination is also easy!.. but it seems language is a bit too brain taxing!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

kk slllleeeep!!!!!!!!!!!!

How things are coming along!

GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(me with frames carved thus far!!! so imagine three of these stacks!! thats how much i need to do)

i’m trying to get an early-ish night but it gets to 1am so quick!!! the time flies by!!!! and i never feel like i have gotten enough done in the day!!!!!!!!!

i went to the doctors today! been having a few joint aches due to cold weather but have some meds for that!! had a bit of a rest today!! was not so hardcore with the carving! i decided to draw up the frames onto some of the lino for a lot of the day! and managed to get 40 drawn up, then carved the outlines of 11 of them! ready for the bigger cutting away! i’ll outline carve most of the 40 tomorrow i hope! or even finish them off that would be awesome!!!

anoyingly i found out how much it would cost if i wanted to get a frame made big enough to fit the prints into it!!! like £260 +  ……. so of course im not going to do that! though you need it framed to submit to the royal achademy summer shows!! soooooooooo anoying!!! i’m going to think on it! and see if i know anyone with some carpentry skills! i know how to make a frame! its the tools to do it that make it hard!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr money!!!!!

i have some things i want to enter this summer! lots of ideas for future plans!. i have applied for a job with new support options! which is caring for people with learning disabilities! i used to do this job! and its quite an interesting job! also good flexible hours!.. i’m really currently running low on funds! so cant really carry on with any more art projects without money!! as you need money to generate them!!!…

i do have my Paris map.. pretty much completely planned out!!! a few more days and it would be done! but it had to be put on the back burner!! its so huge i’m excited to get started so that i can finish it! but i will need a rest from carving after this i think by the time i finish a total of three weeks of full on carving will have been done! maybe 250+ hours…. so a break will be needed!!!! plus the house is starting to get lots of lino turning up in unexpected places!!! ahhhhhhh….

damn money!!! i wish i had a printing press!! any size would do!!!!

i wish i wish i wish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so when i start earning some money its the first thing i will save for!!!!!

anyway sleep is calling me!! ideas are forming!!! wahoooooooooooooo
