In Fally town at the moment, getting to see people, had a fun night last night, i arrived at like 18:30,, but yea left Reading at 10:30.. man really England can not cope with a bit of silly weather!! a little bit of rain/snow.. and Bam the trains go down! lots of delays and ended up having to go by road for some of the journey!!! GRRR..

anyway just making a note of that not much time , i gotta go!!! going to see a band play tomorrow!. going stuff tonight too!!! loving it down here! so its cool!

so man its been one long and great day!. like i’m content in all ways!!!!!!!!! loving it! and i’m typing this in front of the fire, whilst sitting on the recliner sofa feet nicely reclined being warmed by the fire!, just had a shower as i was freezing! you’ll soon see why!. and so am very warm now! and have a frikin warm jumper on! the tea is hot and yea uploaded all the pictures re-sized ready to blog!. 

I awoke to my clock telling me that the time was 11:30… but because my clock is two hours fast due to me being lazy and when setting the alarm, it sometimes skips forward the real time, the actual time was 09:30…

so i first of all had breakfast then jumped in the shower!. i knew that i had plenty to do today!. but i then went online for a little while!. as thats my habbit!.. i think i started with the printmaking once it was all set up and Reading to go about, 11:30… 

The printing went ok, not perfect, but ok!, i need a better press.. the book binding one is ok, but i had to figure out a way of putting pressure in all points as it not total pressing it all down! so i figured all this out!. and it was taking about 5 mins per print! but then with all the faffing about with ink etc.. it took longer!. 

i managed to print four of the 5! as i had done the other one before!. man soo exciting seeing how they will actually come out!. very please!! so HAPPY DAYS!!.. here are some pictures of the days printmaking…

I really like getting photos of lino carvings when they have been inked and the carved out parts are still very white!. 

so anyways also cool that i get to use my drying rack for pretty much the first time! i get to be all nerdy about that!!! its such a life saver for space!. best buy of the year i think!. 

so yea happy days!.. i’ll be posting scans of the prints when they dry! which should be tomorrow, if i got the correct mix of cobolt drier! .

so printmaking at home was crazy funz!. Then had a massive home cooked meal! and was rather stuffed!. and it was amazing! we even had starters!!!! Then no rest! as i got ready to go to knit club, and also life drawing!, it was raining like madness on a sunny day, so i got my massive coat, and could not wear the costume/make up ready for fancy dress life drawing!. i went to knit club, was fun! but i only managed to stay a little while!. some cool projects going on there! and i was helped out a bit when asked questions, so that was cool!. so i went and got my white makeup stuff on, in the bathroom of global cafe,.. AHHH no mirrors so i just had to wing it!. i did look pretty mad by the end of it!.. here is a picture of crazy me in my room that i took when i got home, of how i destroyed myself with make up.. AHHH…

so i’m looking all crazy!!! yup my room is painted black!!! and no it does not make it seem small! it has the opposite effect to me i think!> 

so anyways got ready then went to life drawing, saying my byes to the group!!.. i was getting excited thinking about the wonders of what different people would be dressed as!, and the model who was meant to be a goth, well thats what i heard two weeks ago!. i turn up… BAM!.. no one is dressed.. only a few compared to normal are there, and one of the people there saw me, and was like, oh yea its the halloween life drawing session!.. so ahhhhhhhhhh.. i was the only one! about 9 people or so turned up none in costumes!..

lucky for me though at break about an hour and a half in.. i was getting tired so thought i would go!. well more like i just was not in the mood for life drawing now!. but i got refunded some money due to being the only one dressed up!! WAHOOOOOOO.. so thats all good!..

then i left, and decided to pop in global cafe at which the time was around about 20:35 or so!. two of the group were still there but leaving!. i decided to have a chill out drink some tea and draw! .. i drew about what had just happened!!!!

but yea more of an story-line of what happened! it was nice sitting there drinking my tea! very content indeed! but time was creeping up, it was 21:25 when i decided to leave the global cafe…. i went outside, and was hit by snow!! SOOO much snow falling and in big flakes! it was cool.. so of course i got some more pictures and here they are:

so anyways.. thats all really its been a fun day! so i’m chilling out now for an hour or so then an early-ish night i think!

been drawing carving all day pretty much!. i decided to go for a more abstract look! as i think it suits the quote a lot more! and circles were coming to mind when i was thinking of the word moment!, and they last forever, like a cercle, and a dot is a moment in time it feels like!.. 

so yea happy days!.. 

tomorrow should be fun! im going to go to be ASAP!.. then wake to start printmaking! then at 4pm start getting reading for halloween knitting, which i can only stay at for an hour and 40 mins!. then costume life drawing! SHOULD BE FUN!..

so here is the carving anyways!.

So i always seems to think about moments in the past! there are many that i treasure! many i regret! and its the ones.. the regrets that i was seeming to think on more for the quote!.. i first came up with!. i am Haunted by the ghost of a moment!… so i said about this to Harko, who said about “i like Being Haunted by the Ghost of a moment” which i am playing around with a few ideas for at the moment, just playing around with typography, and thinking of suitable images!..

but yea moments, the ones that you can remember thinking, i wish this could last for ever! seem to come to mind quite often! 

so yea i’m thinking thinking thinking at the moment!… i have to be getting up early tomorrow so i’m not going to be doing a late all night drawing session again!

so i have Lindsay Harko to thank for the quote!. as i said this about the future basically! but she said! oh i like that! then yea i thought! oh i could use in on the portrait carving! as i did actually say that!…

so here it is! looks a bit shabby on the carving.. but i hope the print turns out!! have to wait and see!. going to try and print either tomorrow or Monday!…

yes i had a bit of a lazy day yesterday as i was up carving till gee not sure about 5am or so!.. but i had fun! but got up late yesterday!  i did not get much carving done!… extra! but oh well! i did go to London! and arrive at the Willion Morris Gallery where the print exhibition was being held!. i arrived like an hour early!! HAHA An hour!. so i decided to knit for a bit! whilst knitting a fox walk past me real near! and it kept walking over to a bush and back!.  i would not see it for a while then it would appear again!… strange foxes are! 

i then waited by the door of the gallery and waited for it to open! it was a cool looking place!. still not used to the fact i have my camera with me! so no pictures BLEH!.. i will start posting more!. but went in a little early got talking to people! and saw the amazing works! not much in there i did not like! it was all cool!..

got talking with some of the artists which was great! and talked with anna about the possibility of renting a studio space for £80 a month! which i like the sound of very much! separating home life from work life!!! and meeting other artists too!..

so yea that was cool! got talking to nick and his friend who is a professional printmaker from south Africa, who has been in England for three years, as an artist/printmaker.. when it was time to do i walked with him to the tube station, but we went into a pub first! i do not usually drink but had a jack Daniel’s just to make a change! so we chatted about artworks and stuffs like that for a while!. 

then i had to get going! as the trip was long!… 

got to Paddington and got straight on the train!.. got to knit most of the way home! i think i made even more mistakes! GRRR.. i think i increased to 14 rows at one point! so on the next i decreased.. but that was annoying!.. cant wait to see what its going to be like when i finish it! it will look terrible! but funky in that way i think!

then i rode home! chilled out! did not get on with carving..

I had a fun day in London today walking about, generally browsing the streets!, my  main reason for going to London today was to check the initial proofs of the Amsterdam map, to see what they are going to print like, and give the go ahead for them to get printed!..

very happy with the results. Nick Morley (http://www.nickmorley.co.uk/) is printing the prints for me whilst i get on with other smaller works!. and he did the prints below!… the print studio is EastLondon printmakers

The paper size is 100cm X 120cm

I really like all the works on the walls looks great!. i hope to become a member of the studio soon!

after seeing the prints and Nick, i went by bus back to Bethnal Green tube station, then went to Oxford Circus as i wanted to check email somewhere lucky for me i found the apple store, free usage of internet! HA that comes in handy!!.. Then i went to Embankment via tube.. and went for a walk along the River. to the tate modern, got a cup of hot chocolate from Starbucks which i had not been to in ages!. did not like the hot chocolate too much for some reason, so wished i had of got the normal of Chai Tea Latee, Which is a drink i got put onto when i went to starbucks in Seattle when i was there feb 14th 2004… seattle is an interesting place BYW!… ice Hokey to me was not all that fun though!

anyways so yea! fun day!…was going to go to a private view but found out it was tomorrow night! so i will be going to that for sure!. HAHA i had my knitting for a bit so after i had got the hot chocolate i had went to tate modern and sat down upstairs and knitted for only like 10 mins! then chilled and thought about stuff for a bit! then went!. also knitted on the train on the way home!.  the scarf is coming along!.. i think i made even more mistakes though!! AHHHHHHHH.. haha it will probably all fall apart when i finish it!>_<

ok i’m blogging a bloody lot now! but i need breaks from my carving!.. but yea going to bed now!!.. going to knit a bit more in bed! i still need to fit in some reading time!.. maybe i will start doing that in breaks of carving! i seriously need more hours in the day! as i have too many bloody things i love to do!! GRR..

but london tomorrow should be interesting and the private view im going to attend! .

im carving my portrait out now! using lots of one line hatching for the shading as you can not reall carve tones.. having crazy funs!.. but yea messy as i work here soo much!.. 

man i hope i dream tonight!. like its been a few days!. grrrrrr

OK so not being able to think of a good enough quote and wanting to get on with some work for the exhibition, i thought that i would use the fall back plan and carve a portrait of myself!. as i have not done this before!. i may think of a quote from me and use it in the portrait not sure! anyways im going to draw it up now! and think some more give myself some stuff to do! i took some self portraits with my handy new camera! i got playing and have one i thought i would post on here! im not going to use this!. but decided to use it as a profile pic for facebook, and a few other sites,,meh i might as well.. i like change and changing avatars every now and again and profile pictures!..

i kind of like in a way how this makes me look a bit older!. with worn out skin! haha AHH right off to go do some drawing! peace out yo!.

So knitting group last night went well! i met some interesting people, and had some fun!. i was not really talking though as al my concentration was being used on not screwing up! which i now find out i did anyway! but. bah newbie rules state you are allowed to screw up!..

but i was going to get pictures of knitting, but forgot! and realized when i was walking back to town with sara, that i was going to take pictures! so i did a picture of my attempt at knitting! ha ahhhh…

but yea! so thats that! will continue! going to london tomorrow to see a test print of my Amsterdam map! can not wait! then i might be able to get them started to be printed! and put them up for sale on here!!! so thats exciting!. 

oh so the above picture was taken with my new sony cyber shot w130… its cool and all.. and i got it for just over £100 but i did think it would come with the ability to do long exposures like my last cybershot! but my stupidity for not reading up on it more!… BUT!. it was cheapish! and i do have a 350D canon (with bad lense i need a new one) so when i get the new lens sorted on that it will not matter!  i was thinking of spending out £200 for a new camera, as i liked the idea of water proof, as i love snorkling, scuba diving! but realized that i just do not have the money to be spending that kind of money! so used all my birthday money on this camera so i did not need to spend any of my own money! 

haha i did take a rather bad myspace style shot of MEMEME just for craziness.. but am looking way to serious..noooooo i’ll post it! ah.

i like how good it is with the face recognition though takes a better portrait in terms of quality then my last camera. haha i did not have the smile setting on! but the camera! also has the ability to take pictures at the moment when someone smiles, as you can set different smile levels!. i thought it might not be to good but it is! haha funny results on the highest setting too which i may post the results of on here some day!.

bah i need to go draw/design/think!.
