So here is a lino carving that i did for Rochester College, its a lino carving + prints i did, and they used the print for a poster.

SO damn i got a lot on my mind.. things are going crazy! life is doing good!…
So at the moment i am creating a typeface, taking a while but its fun, im liking the shapes i am creating, not sure how far i am going to take it,, i would like to make it a proper typeface, but its only vector at the moment, so i need an actual font program like Fontographer/font studio…
other then the typeface i am working on (but not very much) My Paris Map… im having a few problems with finding the right typefaces, which has annoyed me, and i’m bad when im like that as it puts me off.. so yea need to get into the right frame of mind to work MORE.. on it… Now i’ve just been asked and am going to be sending 5 new pieces of work off to NYC.. for an exhibition called, small works big ideas… the size of each is 8 inches X 8 Inches… so cracking on with ideas for this!.. its going well… and i get to sell them and make 100% commission so thats cool!.
In other news im going to a wedding thing tonight so its going to be a late one.. looking forward to it!.. and yea i need money! its sooooo low its insane!.. like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… but oh well.. if i had the money i would have taken the work to NYC by myself!. and i would have then got to meet some cool people!. but yea i need more money cash dollar jobs!! haha if anyone reads this and want to send work my way! im onto some leads with getting my editions printed for my city map series, i was going to be doing that at home, but yea.. i physically can not do them, which is pissing me off.. but yea im onto some leads with getting availability to a press which i would pay to use.. or maybe even paying someone to print the whole edition out for me, at a cost.. so lots of things on my mind!…

so i decided to print my, dream forever piece, as its a little bit bigger and more detailed then the fear is the thief of dreams piece… this is it:
so i was covered in ink by the time i had finished printmaking!. wow i had to put so much ink on the linoleum to get it to come out well enough!. not sure how long its going to take to dry!. OH MY GOSH!. was it a lot of effort, im going to be pure arm muscle soon, seriously!!.. using that Baron, on the back of the paper is no easy task!. damn it, if i only had a spare ten grand laying around! geesh!. i would love to buy a press! it was fun no doubt!. and i learnt a lot!. tomorrow im going to learn even more!.. i love the whole trial and error, of learning how to do all this stuff!.
F-me. my joints are playing up a little, not sure how my hands are going to take all this, but im going to see what all that crap is like by the end of the week!. it might be a case of grin an bare it.. pending on pain levels!. im going to try and put in like 6 hours of printmaking tomorrow, i will try my new york map im thinking!. so can not wait to print another one of them!.
i can not believe how long it took me to clean up all the ink tonight!. i also decided to keep my roller well cleaned so took it apart to clean it!!. worth it but time consuming!. also i need to buy some good wipes. and get some sort of over all.. so i do not get my clothes dirty!. i know im going to mess the house up!! ahh.. this is very messy work!.
im using sunflour oil to get the ink off of everything, as white spirit is more something you can use in well ventilated areas, which our dining room is not, and its cold at night now, so not really wanting to keep the windows open!.
Last night i was thinking loads about my travels for some reason!, and my conservation work of 5 months, man that was so much fun!. i hope to do something like that again some day!. physical labour for like 9 hours a day 5 days a week, does actually feel great!. (in the right weather conditions, and i was in hot climate most of the time, so that was AMAZING!)
well time to go read!.
Soo today i was looking after my brothers 23 month old son Devontae since 8am till 3pm… had lots of fun.. wow they take the Energy out of you though!
My drying Rack, Baron, and cobolt Drier was at home waiting when i got there with devontae!. wahooo.. so tonight i am going to do a few test prints, of my “Fear is the Thief of Dreams” vinyl carving. Not sure how long exactly things are going to take to dry. im getting pretty excited, having all this stuff does mean that i can now work 9am + all day. till i get the amount of prints i need to start selling them i hope for about 2 weeks.. thats my aim to get my online shop up and running!. and contact the people that wanted to buy prints from me… though i still have not managed to get my London Lino cut.. i will be printing my amsterdam and New York print off!.. i do not doubt though its going to take quite a few prints for me to get the technique correct with hand printing…
each print will i think take about 45 mins and a bit more maybe, as you have to often wash the carving to get good prints each time. and the washing takes a while, because like i said its all oil based. Printmaking is fun, but i do find the washing side of things the most annoying!. so yea 5 prints a day i am thinking is a good amount!. maybee less at the start but better then doing what i am doing at the moment which is not a whole lot i feel!.

oh i finished the book i was reading “The time travellers wife” wow i actually really liked it, like really really liked it!… and i thought it was very well planned out. Plus it hit on some things i think from things i have experienced before.. haha not time travel, just waiting… long periods of waiting waiting waiting!.. its annoying but worth it!.
now im going to Read.. umm i’ll go check not sure i have a big stack of books to get through!:

just wanted to try out printing at home! so i did a lino carving for it. just something Random really!..loving the new roller!.. it was rather Hard burnishing it all, and my City Map Carvings are bigger so its going to be harder, as its going to be making sure all areas have been pressed on.. WOW the spoon got really hot because of the friction from the back of the spoon at the back of the paper!.
so here is a piece i have been working on and off on for a little while.. it had been put to one side for a few months though!.. this is a quick photo… i’m going to take a few in interesting places tomorrow, as i like how out of place it will look!.
I had an interesting day, woke up and went to town, went to the library so that i could pick up my book list. i got 7 books out, i doubt i will read them by the 6th of october but i can have a bloody good try!.. these are the books that the library recommended, currently reading of the list The time travelers wife…
